FAQ

Where are you located?

My office is in charming Keswick Village located above Crate N Press Juice Bar in Glenside.

266 N. Keswick Avenue, Second Floor Glenside, PA 19038

Unfortunately, I am on a second floor with no elevator, so I recommend telehealth for those who may have trouble with physical access to my office.

What is parking like at your office?
There are abundant parking spaces on Keswick Avenue for $0.25/hour, and there is free two-hour parking on Wharton Road behind Penny’s Flowers, which is across the street from my office.
How long are your sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes, give or take.
What is your schedule?
I work from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM ET, M-F. I offer minimal evening hours on a case-by-case basis.
What is your fee?
My fee is $170/session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots on my schedule. Please speak to me directly if the fee is an issue. I’m often able to work something out.
Do you take insurance? Why or why not?

I have a contract with Lyra Health, an EAP (Employee Assistance Plan). If your employer uses Lyra Health, then great! Let me know.

I am not in-network with any other form of insurance for various reasons. However, I highly encourage you to pursue utilizing your out-of-network benefits to recoup some of the cost of therapy.

I use Thrizer, a program that submits out-of-network claims for you and gives you back what you’ll get for your reimbursement immediately, for a cost of $2.99/session (paid to Thrizer, not to me).

If you choose to pursue reimbursement independently, I can also give you a Superbill for submission to your insurance provider.

How do I set up an appointment?

Please email me at dryoung@infertilityglenside.com or call me at (267) 766-0977 to schedule a brief consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is no fee to cancel over 24 hours from the session. Less than 24 hours’ notice, and the cancellation fee is $170. I waive the payment for the first missed session per year.

To avoid canceling, many people choose to move their session to telehealth if exposed to illness, are only a little bit sick, or have a scheduling conflict immediately before or after the session. Additionally, I do not charge a cancellation fee if we can reschedule within the same week.

What are your COVID safety policies?

I’m glad you asked! I only see vaccinated clients in person. I am vaccinated, and I keep current on boosters. I keep my chair more than six feet from my sofa, and I run an air purifier between myself and the client. I also Lysol the air between clients and have windows between us that I can open at a client’s request.

I prefer to do unmasked in-person therapy because it is difficult to read facial expressions masked. Also, if you’ve ever cried in a mask, it is a wet and uncomfortable experience! So, I recommend telehealth for those who aren’t comfortable with doing therapy unmasked.

I have all my clients sign a telehealth consent form so that my in-person clients and I can move flexibly to telehealth if either of us, or someone with whom we live, is exposed to COVID, symptomatic, or pending test results. These precautions allow therapy to continue safely and without interruption.

What's with all the pineapples on your website?

Pineapples are a popular symbol of infertility in the online community. This is because pineapple contains bromelain, which has blood thinning and anti-inflammatory properties.

Eating pineapple core is suggested as a homeopathic tool to aid embryo implantation, though there is no real scientific evidence behind this. I don’t have an opinion on its use one way or the other.

And the birds?

On my About page, you’ll see the start of an Emily Dickenson poem which describes hope as “the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” This poem resonates with me, so I incorporated birds as symbols of hope throughout the site.

I also have this poem hanging on the wall of my office next to a painting of a bird gifted to me by a friend.
